The word ‘paradise’ is an extremely overused and abused term to describe all sorts of places that appear to tick a lot of boxes and so its meaning has become debased somewhat over the years but which i think still applies to someplace like Mogan, a small fishing village located about 72 kilometres from Las Palmas in the canarian island of Gran Canaria, just a few miles beyond the popular resorts of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles. Small is, of course a relative term as this former sleepy fishing village now has a population of approximately 15,000 which puts it on a par with Irish towns the size of Clonmel!
Although not featured on many (if any) of the traditional tour operators brochures, this little gem can easily be booked through any Travel Centres agency in the country as they can access accommodational stock through one of their preferred suppliers Globe Hotels who have some great deals in a beautifully located 4 star property just minutes from both the beach and bustling marina. The Cordial Playa Mogan is a well designed property with plenty of landscaped gardens, kids and spa facilities along with an award-winning restaurant and free wi-fi and is located directly across the road from a small shopping centre.
If you want to get away from it all without necessarily being away from it all then this resort is a little bit of paradise. It even has its own private church on the property for any couples wishing to celebrate their nuptials there. See what I mean?
